David Knipfer's
"No-Pipe" DC System

For those of you who e-mailed me .....   here are some photos that show the basic idea.

If you only operate 1 machine at a time this is a quick and inexpensive way to go ....   my total install cost (besides the DC of course) was about $50 and I had her up and running in about an hour or so .....   try doing that with a fixed pipe system!

There is a 20 foot section of 4" flex hose attached to my dust collector.   I put a 'quick connect' fitting on the end and it stores on a wall when not is use.

Some of my machinery came with a dust fitting that the hose just slips over ....   like my Jet 6" jointer ...

For others ....   I had to make the machine side fitting.   I did this by cutting a standard 4" coupling in half ......   tapered the end and attached it to my machine .....   like this on my bandsaw...

All in all ....   it works well for me, and I am quite dust phobic!
